Soul Mates

It is that time again Sleep is for the Weak Writing Workshop and this week the theme that I am going to do is Soul Mates. Number 3

Does a soul mate actual exist? I always wondered this, when I was growing up I thought that I would find my soul mate and that would be our live mapped out together forever. But obviously that was a fairy tale of an ending. By the time I had left university and all my friends were settling down and some were starting to have children, I then began to think that maybe I had missed my soul mate. That he had been there but I had been too blind and missed him!

Then I met Mr L, now is he my soul mate?

So that is what I have asked myself since Monday when Josie put the workshop up. This is what I have concluded.

  • I can imagine growing old with Mr L, I can’t actually imagine doing anything different.
  • I love him, so very much, however some days I loathe him as much as I love him.
  • Mr L has the ability to make me laugh, giggle and be in hysterics in minutes, even seconds sometimes, that is a skill.
  • Mr L also has the ability to make me so angry it hurts, and to make me cry uncontrollably.
  • I feel that I can do anything in life as long as I have Mr L’s support.
  • His opinion of me is the most important.
  • I look at him across the room and I still get butterflies.
  • I love him more now than when I first met him, but from the first day I knew we would be together forever.
  • If he asked I would marry him today.

I would say from that list that Mr L is my soul mate and yes they do exist. I think I have been very lucky to find mine and just hope he feels the same too, will have to ask him later!

This is interesting. It’s something I have never really thought about much before, not believing in things like soul mates but then there is a part of me that asks how can you believe in love if you can’t believe in soul mates?

I thought that it was an interesting topic, I don’t know whether soul mates are a thing to believe in. But if any of the things that are on my list are things that are included in a “soul mate” then yes I have my soul mate. It really made me think though. Thanks for the comment x

I think a soul mate is like love, when you find it there is absolutely no doubt in your mind. I have mine. That doesn’t mean we spend every day skipping through the fields hand in hand with gentle music playing in the background. We have days when we are mad at each other, but we don’t stop liking each other no matter how mad we get. They are the person who knows your deepest secrets and the you that is hidden from most. Yet despite this they still love you. I am incredibly lucky to have found mine

Yeah I feel like you about my husband …only I thought the idea of soul mate was that there is only one out there for everyone…..I don’t really believe in that!
