The Photo Lottery

I have been tagged by Super Single Mums Blog in my first ever meme. She said she hoped I didn’t mind… of course not – I’m delighted! Although I actually have no idea what a “meme” is!  Here are the instructions:

1. Open the first (oldest) photo folder in your computer library
2. Scroll to the 10th photo
3. Post the photo and the story behind it
4. Tag 5 or more people to continue the thread

(C) 2010 And Then All I Thought About Was You

This photo was taken in 2005, and is a picture of my friends and my feet. We were on one of our close friends hen night, the first friend to get married. It was the beginning of the night and we were on a canal boat, having our dinner, before we went clubbing. My feet are the ones in black shoes.

This picture actual holds very different memories for me, I like this picture a lot, as it is the only picture from the hen night that does not show me covered in bruises. I was black and blue for the hen night and I had to have an emergency cover up session with fake tan before the night happened.

At the time, I was working in an Autistic school and we had been on a trip from Surrey up to Battersea for a special needs fair. We were coming home and one of the children got out of her seatbelt and out of her seat on the minibus. It took a couple of us to get her back into the seat, and I spent the rest of the ride home sitting with a leg over her and my arms holding her arms down trying to keep her back in her seat. I was like this for a couple of hours as we got stuck in traffic, and she wasn’t happy.

I was kicked, bitten, smacked, thumped, slapped and screamed at all the way.

Now I bruise easily, Mr L only has to poke me with his finger and I will bruise so you can imagine how bad I looked. I looked like I had been in the biggest fight of my life!

So no amount of fake tan was going to hide the marks, but I thought that I would try. This is the only photo that you can not see the bruises, until the end of the night when we are in the nightclub, then you can’t tell.

However it is also a great photo as it is the start of a fantastic night, and a fantastic new era to our lives. Getting married and starting to grow into adults.

So now for my 5 tags, I am fairly new to blogging so I hope that none of these mind being tagged and enjoy taking part in it.

Oh thankyou for the tag, I will do it soon. I think it is a great photo, but an even better story.

My MIL worked in a special care school, so I know how hard it can be, espeically when you can not restrain sometimes.
