Cars!

So today was a good day. We were back to normal as they say!

Baba went off to Nannies, I had my internet back and I was working from home just incase Baba kicked up, as he hasn’t done the whole mummy going to work thing for over a month now. So I was a little concerned he wouldn’t like it.

I didn’t need to bother about him, he was fine.

My car well that’s a different story!

When I dropped off Baba my car was revving, and revving high. Now I know nothing about cars, Mr L will get in the car and tell me that the left front wheel doesn’t have enough pressure in the tyre. I just nod and agree and have no idea what he is talking about! But I do know that when your car is stationary and not in gear it should not be revving at 45 to 50 revs, and should not be smelling of smoke. That I know!

So what does a girl do in this situation. I called Mr L.

He was no help, said he didn’t know what it was but go and pick up Baba and he would look at it tonight.

So I ask “where are your car keys?”

“With me,” was his reply. Great!

So I still have to take the beast out and put Baba in the car, even though it smells as if it is going to blow up! I’m not happy about this and don’t really want to drive the car anymore.

So I call Dad!

He tells me to take it to the garage he uses, tell them I am his daughter and get them to look at it asap.

So that’s what I do. Forty minutes later, and they tell me that they think the head gasket is going. Again! It was only replaced in January.

Now this isn’t a new car it is an old banger that we brought to enable Mr L to have a work car, but I am now wondering whether it was worth it. We brought it in November last year and it has been in the garage four times since then. I am debating whether to just get rid of it, but Mr L does really need a car. So we are really struggling with this one at the moment.

Trying to find cars is so hard and so mind numbing I hate it, but it looks like I am going to be going down that route again. Oh joy!

Oh no I hate it when things go wrong with the car! I went 18 months without one simply becasue I couldnt afford the constant trips to get things fixed. I spent a bit more this time and got one I hope will do me 2 years ish then I will buy new or nearly new – but for my job now it is a necessity so I need a reliable one.
