Now as you all know, since having Baba I have struggled with my weight as many of us have. I have lost weight since I gave birth to him but due to putting on four stone of weight while pregnant with him, only losing a stone, has not made much of a difference!
I have hated my body for many reasons for 18months now, actually that’s a lie for two years. I hated my body when I was pregnant as well.
I hate everything about it. I am rarely in pictures now as I hate the way I look. I think my face is fat, my legs are hideous, my bum well you can’t see much past it. My belly is huge, and my boobs still have not gone down from being pregnant they were large anyway now they are just stupid! See not loving the body!
I have and am going back to dieting tonight, and have lost bits and bobs, but still there is more to go. I have no clue some days why Mr L stays with me in this fat hideous state, and I do tell him this quite regularly.
He knows I have issues at the moment with how I feel about myself, he tries to tell me that he doesn’t see me any differently. But I am sure that he does. I never believe him. So you can imagine my shock the other day!
This dreaded advert came on tv, I sat there rolling my eyes. Thinking awful thoughts about all the woman walking around on the tv. Thoughts that can not be repeated.
When Mr L said completely out of the blue,
“Thats how you look to me. You know that right?”
I looked at him and he was deadly serious.
I now watch that advert with a smile on my face!
This post was done for the Writing Workshop I chose to do prompt number 2. Tell me about a time when someone said something that made you feel good, that was just what you needed to hear.

Aww.. he sounds sweet! I’m glad you have such a wonderful husband. I love how husbands see us so differently than we see ourselves.
I’ve gained about 20 lbs (I guess that would be a stone and a half?) since we first got together 5 years ago. I told my husband yesterday that I wanted to lose the 20 lbs and he looked at me as if I were crazy saying that I didn’t need to lose a single pound and I was beautiful the way I was! Still want to lose the weight, but I love the ‘rose-colored glasses’ he has on that makes me beautiful to him no matter how much I weigh.
Apr 29, 2010 @ 21:15:26
It is rose coloured glasses isn’t it! They just see you so differently!

Apr 29, 2010 @ 21:14:31

Apr 29, 2010 @ 21:53:45
Aww bless him! I think every woman could do with their other half telling them that.
Hope he was suitably rewarded… ahem 😉

Apr 29, 2010 @ 23:04:44
Awww what a wonderful man! Now you just need to readjust your specs so you see yourself like that too!
Apr 29, 2010 @ 23:11:52
