Last night Mr L and I went on a date!
I know a real date!
We dropped Baba off at his Nannies, and went to the pub, and had dinner. All on our own, just the two of us. With no little person around!
Now I love Baba, but it was lovely!
We haven’t been out just the two of us, since Baba was born, that is nearly two years ago. I forgot how much I liked just being with Mr L, how much he makes me laugh, and how much we can just talk about nothingness.
We were relaxed and chilled and it was nice to forget about all the mundane stuff that you get wrapped up in. The washing up, ironing, cleaning, paying bills, where the next pound is coming from, we could just have fun and not worry about anything else even if it was just for a couple of hours.
It made us both realise how much we actually take each other for granted and how little we do with one another on our own. We decided that we need to make more of an event, and it doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive, just simple. Getting a movie in, having dinner just the two of us later than Baba, a nice simple gesture, that just shows us both that we still care.
Well that’s the plan anyway, do any of you manage to do this with your partners?

And then of course you will come back to the mundane stuff with a fresh heart all renewed and ready to face it all ,..love Jan xx

Good for you 🙂 Glad you had a lovely time. You definitely need to make time for the two of you so you can romance each other and generally enjoy each others company as adults and not “mummy and daddy”.

Mine are older now (10,8,6 and nearly 4) and so it’s easier to find time together. But I think it’s great that you’re planning it now. When mine were small it was easy to forget about spending time alone, and we often did.

We really have been forgetting about spending time together and it was so nice to be on our own and we have no excuses my parents live up the road and Mr L’s live down the road they are both minutes away from us so we should use them a bit more I think xx

My Hubby and I also try to do date night, we are cramming in a few these past couple of months as my little boy has his Gastrostamny in September and we will no longer be able too.
Its amazing to have the night, most of the time we end up falling asleep early cause we are so tired but the rest is good and it makes you enjoy your time with baba so much more x

They are such a good idea aren’t they and they make you appreciate each other for each other and not just Mummy and Daddy.
Hope your little boy’s op goes ok x
