I was dreading today.
Mr L was working and was taking my car as his is not drivable at the moment, so Baba and I were stranded. Our house was a mess and I generally was thinking it was going to be a bit of a pants day.
How wrong was I?
Whenever I have had to clean in the past, Baba has been a slight nightmare, not letting me do anything whingeing and being a bit grumpy. Just a typical two-year old. I can do it but in fits and starts of ten minutes here ten minutes there. Well today he was a superstar.
He asked to watch a movie first thing, so I was able to get all of the upstairs done, while he watched the movie in my bedroom, which was such a pleasure as I could see him, he could see me. But he just didn’t move. Then he helped tidy up the lounge, and when he was bored he went to play with the rabbits so I was able to get on and finish it. The only thing that was left was the kitchen and he sat like a star for his lunch so that Mummy could get on and clean.
I have also managed to put on four loads of washing today and the day hasn’t been half that bad.
Dad has taken the beast of and got a few bits sorted on it, so Mr L should be happy. Baba has gone down to sleep like a dream and I even managed to sit and eat my lunch while watching some of my programmes, a whole hour-long one actually.
Tonight I have an evening of the X Factor and ironing planned, but I feel much better and happier about things now, isn’t it amazing what a clean house can do for you.
Hopefully it will continue!
