You and him are my main priorities
So why do I get wrapped up with everything and everyone else?
It is just about us three!
We are the important ones,
Sure we have the rest of the families and a few close friends
But in the cold darkness of the night
It is just you, him and me
So we are the important ones!
I stress about cleaning, tidying and worry about the image we create
Why?
As long as he is happy, and healthy
Why or why does a clean side matter?
He loves to be grubby, he loves to play in dirt
With bugs and dig and rummage
I should embrace it
Not take it away!
It wont last forever so why try to stop it before it starts?
You want to cuddle and sit on a sofa
I worry about the ironing, or this other piece of work that should be done
I shouldn’t I should be happy that you still want a cuddle
I should embrace it and not push you away!
We should laugh more,
Not worry about tomorrow be joyful we survived today!
Think of the good things we have done in the last 24 hours,
Not about the things that are coming in the next 24 hours!
I shouldn’t worry about where the next pound is coming from,
It always lands at our feet, when we most need it
So why fret about it
We will be ok
Lets just enjoy
Being us three, being together and being happy
Before you start to play golf and disappear every weekend
And before he starts to think it is uncool to be with Mummy and Daddy
You and him are my priorities and I need to make the most of them
Right here, right now!

I struggle with this too.. I always let others get in the way of the stuff I want to be doing or sadly, sometimes, of spending time with my husband, because other people ‘need’ me. I’m sure Baba knows he is well loved by you, and I agree, cleaning isn’t everything! 🙂

Wonderful post. I think we could all learn a lot from that! So easy to get lost in the pointless bits of life and miss the important stuff
