Painting!

Yesterday Baba and I did some painting for the first time on our own. We did try months and months ago, but he hated every minute. So we left it, but I thought it was about time that we tried it again. I got out the finger paints and some picture frames, as we are in the throes of getting things ready for presents for Christmas time, and showed Baba what I was doing…

And that we were going to paint some picture frames. He got so excited bless him that he started to shake! As soon as the paints were near him he got right in there…

Getting out the finger paints and putting them on the frames, there was no more looking in disgust at the paint getting on his fingers like the first time!

This time he just wanted to paint!

 Paint…

And paint some more…

It was so great to watch, the concentration on his face was fantastic, and I just love the fact that there is a little bit of me in him. He is so like his father with sport and exercise, but somewhere deep down the arty side of me is coming out him and I am so pleased. The only way I could get him to stop, only because we run out of paint, was to bribe him with a biscuit! (That there is me too) Here are the finished frames…

With a little varnish I think they will look lovely, and three lucky people have a Baba handmade original there! Great idea, to give the little guy a chance to meet art 1-0-1. I am sure it is just the beginning.
