The Gallery – Sparkle

Our Christmas tree is full of sparkles all around, it is the only time of the year I let myself be all girlie and let the sparkles come out!

I am very protective over my tree, we are only allowed certain colours on it, silver and white and everything has its own place on the tree, everything has to be put on it in a pattern. I know how many stars, snowflakes, and balls I have and I work them out so there is equal amounts dotted round the tree.

Yes it is an obsession, but it makes me happy.

This year Mr L decided to put up the tree! He put red balls on that we had in the flat, three years ago, and mixed them in with the white but he didn’t put on snowflakes or stars or pull out the branches thick enough. (We only have a fake tree)

He went to bed and I stayed up to ‘watch some TV’ I pulled everything off the tree. Re did the branches and redressed the tree. Then I went to bed.

He will no longer put up the Christmas tree! It is a final unanimous decision that has been made in the house!

This weeks theme at The Gallery was Sparkle. Hop on over to see all the other posts.

We have a silver and purple tree, but I can see that this will change as the kids grow up and make stuff at school etc. We may have to have a special “kids” tree 🙂

I have kept our old white tree purely for this purpose, from next year onwards it will go in the kitchen and that will be Baba’s tree to put the things he makes on and his decorations that he likes. I would have done it this year but we have a dishwasher waiting to be plumbed in in the way! xx

I have learned to be little more relaxed over the tree and the boys also have one, they like all the different colours. BC I used to only do red, green and gold!
