Down And Out…Not Yet!

You know when you work so hard and struggle through to make something work, you think you have finally cracked it and then something comes along, and whips everything that you have you done out from under your feet. And you are crushed and deflated and fallen.

Today that is me and Mr L. We thought we had turned a corner with some things in our lives (and I hasten to add not our relationship that is fine!) We really felt that we had got over the worse and then today…Wham we were literally hit by a bolt of lightning as they say. More

In Hindsight!

As you all know we recently needed a new car, as my other car had completely and utterly died, and it is a vital part of my job to have my own transport. Mr L is always driving over the country so there is no possibility to car share with him, as we never know where he is going to be the next day.

We looked around for a new car and it was looking to be a bit of a huge impossibility. We could find the cars that we liked, but we just didn’t have the money. We life on such a tight budget that we just don’t have spare money hanging around at the moment, everything is accounted for. More

Oh Dear

So this weekend I had a list, a list of things that I really wanted to get done over the weekend. Things that were going to make my life easier, the house look nicer and the working side of my life easier and happier. There weren’t many things on the list only four things, cleaning, gardening, dog walking and writing space. So all manageable things over a weekend. More

Dogs who would have them?

This time of the year is always a busy one for our family, we have three birthdays in the space of two weeks and they start with my dads, and my nephews only a couple of days apart. So this weekend we went off to my parents for a joint birthday dinner. More

How To Save

Mr L and I have never ever been savers, it has always been a thing that we have talked about and we have thought about but we have never actually done. We always have these grand plans of how much we are going to save each month, and we do put it away and then we spend it before it gets saved.

Now that we have Baba we both feel that we should really have some savings behind us, so in the past few months we have been trying to teach ourselves to save. It is a hard thing to teach yourself, but there is no point us getting savings accounts unless we know we can save some money in them.

So how do you teach yourself to save? More

Baba’s Music and Movement Group

So last week Baba and I tried out a new music and movement group at our children’s centre. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know that I have been stressing that Baba doesn’t see enough of other children as he spends most of his time with me and Mr L. Now I personally hate these things, but I thought no I need to get Baba interacting with others so we have to go!

Last Friday at 10.30 we had a bags ready and off we went. It was an ok group, the group only started last week so everyone was new to it, that was nice. But I quickly realised that all the other mummies all seemed to know one another and their children seemed to know one another. Not so nice. More

Kreativ Blogger Award – Seven Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Ok so I have been tagged by Super Single Mum for the Kreative Blogger Award. Now within this award I have to tell you seven things about myself that I have not told you before. Now I too have found this hard, as I think I am quite open about myself in my blog, but here goes. More

Yum yum Pizza!

People who know me, know that I am not a great food lover, I eat because I know that I have to, and only really like a few foods. Generally foods that are not good for me. Chocolate, biscuits, cakes and pizza to name a few.

When we lived in our first place Mr L and I were thrilled to discover that we could get Domino’s pizzas delivered to our front door. We come from a small town so delivery of food is a new thing for us. We would have a pizza near enough every other week and we tried them all. More

A Date to Return

So the date has arrived.

The 13th of April 2010.

We have the modem, we have the cd to start and now we just wait. Until we finally get our internet back!

We only ordered it the 28th of January so not a long time waiting! I don’t think! Only two months and a couple of weeks. I can not believe it has taken this long. More

The Gallery – Me and Friends

So over at Sticky Fingers it is that time again for The Gallery. This week the prompt was ME! I have to admit I found this hard, I hate my photo being taken with a passion so there aren’t that many in the first place. The other problem was that there are so many me’s as well, I couldn’t decide which ones to go with.

There is me as a mum, me as a business woman, me as daughter etc. However I decided to go with me as a friend for this week.

(C) 2010 And Then All I Thought About Was You

The first picture is of me and my best friend. We have been friends since we started primary school at the grand age of four and a half and we are now nearing 30. We are very different, so different you wouldn’t think we would get on, but I trust her with my life and I trust her with my baby’s life. When we found out we were expecting Baba I knew that she would be his godmother and that was final, and Mr L knew there was no changing it. I am glad she is my friend, we have our up and downs but isn’t that what friends are for. I love this photo as it is the most recent one we have of just us two without a child or other half in it. It is when everything started to change for us. I had only been with Mr L a few months and she had just got with her now fiance so our lives where moving from being students and getting our careers to changing to what they are now.

(C) 2010 And Then All I Thought About Was You

The second is me and Mr L, enough said, except yes he is my other half, but he is also one of my best friends. You finally get to see the man. We had just moved into our caravan at this point, little did we know four years later we would have a babe a house, and a dog. How things change.

(C) 2010 And Then All I Thought About Was You

The last picture is of my two best mates from college. We have been friends for years, and we are all over the country. We don’t see a lot of one another but when we do we laugh, and pick up where we left off.

So there is another side to me. Me with my friends.
