The Last Day…

It has been a strange year, one that has sometimes flowed and one that has sometimes been incredibly hard but one that has been filled with excitement and joy.

It started so well and we were looking for new things for 2010 these were quickly dashed when Baba went down hill and was very poorly for a good month or so. We spent numerous days in hospital, all in a month-long period. He had another convulsion, he had his first rigor. He had tonsilitis, sickness, ear infection, throat infection, and croup. We were given penicillin, he was allergic, a nebulizer, and antibiotics all to be told that he had tonsilitis for a whole month. We saw the ambulance men more in the month of february to march than ever before. It was tiring, stressful, scary and a really hard work. But more than anyone hard work for little Baba. He fought a lot in that month, but came out the other side! More

Swimming

Yesterday we took Baba swimming. It was the first time we had been swimming for a long time and it showed.

Baba was very reluctant at first, he wouldn’t leave Mr L’s arms and just wanted to be carried in the pool. He got upset if Mr L tried to move him off his chest and just hold his hands.

This worried me.

I suppose the lack of swimming is my fault. I am not a great swimmer and did not learn myself until I was eight or nine years old. I don’t like water in my face and hate to swim under water. Swimming full stop does not come naturally to me. I always said that I didn’t want that to be the case for Baba. More

Halloween

Obviously today was Halloween, but it was the first one in our house to be celebrated.

We usually hide out for Halloween I have to say, neither Mr L or myself being that bothered, but today we made an effort for Baba!

We went down to my sisters and he had a Halloween party with them. This was basically a little tea, with fingered rolls, blood filled eggs, and worm jelly! Which was a massive hit.

The children then carved a pumpkin,  More

Baba, Shells and Sea

Today I am tired very tired I hit all my deadlines yesterday but wore myself out in the process, so instead of sitting here and thinking of something magical to say I pass you over to Baba and the sea!

We went away to Wales in September and I haven’t written a lot about it, but it was a great first family holiday.

One of the days we headed off to the beach and it was a beautiful day there was no one else on the beach and we spent a good couple of hours walking around collecting the shells well I shall let the pictures do the rest of the talking! More

Farm Time

Yesterday we went off to a working farm near my sister it was part of Baba’s birthday treat. We went with my sister and brother-in-law and my niece and nephew, my mum and dad, my cousin, her husband and their two children and my friend, her husband and their baby.

It was a fantastic day, it was sunny all day and the kids absolutely loved it. We arrived at 11 and didn’t leave till 5pm so the kids had a great day out. We had a picnic while we were there, and I think that everyone enjoyed it.

Baba especially enjoyed it, he got to feed some goats. More

Real Life

Real life has taken over at the moment in our household!

I have so much that I want to write about on the blog, but at the moment I just have not had time. But I will, the light is opening at the end of the tunnel and the mayhem has nearly finished!

So what has been happening that has made me be so busy? More

A General Mummy Day

Today I have been a mummy all day long!

Woke up to the sound of “MOM” coming from a little mans room, walk round the corner and he is standing at his gate on tiptoes. Laughing as I arrive!

Go downstairs, dog scratches, let him out. Stand out in the garden saying “no” repeatedly to get him off the new grass and directing him to the end of the garden where he should be going to do his business. He does nothing we come back in. More

Some Days Are So Hard And Full Of Guilt

I was going to do a blog today about the lovely Secret Post Club parcel that I received today from the lovely Susie over at New Day New Lesson but I have had such a bad day that I had to write about that first.

I haven’t felt right since I had the bug on Saturday. I am really tired, I am not into eating very much, and generally still feel pretty sick, but have managed not too. I thought that I was over it, but maybe I was wrong, maybe it is a bug that is refusing to go, but regardless of that it has left me feeling like rubbish!

To top that off I have had a difficult day with Baba. More

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of Mother’s Day

Well what a day mother’s day was in our house.

We had the good, we had the ugly and then last night in the middle of the night we had the bad. So all in all it was very eventful!

It started out fantastic, I got breakfast in bed and a lovely card and book from Baba. I really was not expecting anything, if you read my blog you will have read how dismal Mr L is when it comes to mother’s day, so I was very pleased.

A Little Stressed

So as some of you may know, we have been a little poorly in our house of late. We are gradually coming out the other side, Mr L is back at work, Baba is now only on the nebulizer, and it is just me that is still ill. But I will get over it quick.

But being ill is not just about the days that you are poorly, you then have the backlash of the things that you should be doing when you are poorly sitting there and building up until you get better. So I now have a list a mile long. More
